Saltern Cove is only a 4 to 5 minute stroll along the coast path from Goodrington Sands Beach.
The entrance to Saltern Cove is from the coast path over the steam railway across the old stone bridge where you enter a field with absolutely fantastic sea views across the whole of Tor Bay from Thatcher rock in Torquay to Berry head in Brixham. Popular with dog walkers there are quite a few benches where you can sit and take in the view, from the field you can access both Saltern Cove and Oyster Cove
Saltern Cove is a site of special scientific interest and a local nature reserve. Uniquely in Britain, the local nature reserve extends underwater to a point 376 metres below low water mark.
